I have always been an Oregon native, raised in a rural town called Boring, not too far from Portland. I already can hear the questions, and even though while we were living there the town put in their first stop light, it was not boring! I grew up with my five siblings, parents, and my grandpa, on 2.5 acres filled with animals and freedom to explore. My husband, Josh, is from the East Coast and when I met him in 2010 I no longer lived in the country, instead I was enjoying the allure of the city. We were married in July of 2012 and had our first child, Vivian, in January of 2015. The first 5 years of our marriage were a refining fire. We were very young and made choices that almost pulled us apart.
